Are you a graduate looking to gain experience in SEN within a primary school environment?
 
Could you utilise your skills and set boundaries in a friendly way to a child with SEMH requirements?

*** £80 - £90 per day
*** Immediate start until July 2025
*** ‘Good’ primary school, Selly Oak
*** 1:1 Support to a young boy with SEMH requirements.
 
We are seeking a dedicated Male Teaching Assistant to support a young boy with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs. This is a rewarding opportunity for someone who is passionate about making a positive impact in a child’s life.
 
Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide 1:1 support for the child throughout the school day, helping him with his academic, social, and emotional development.
  • Assist with classroom tasks, ensuring a safe and structured environment.
  • Implement strategies to support the child’s emotional regulation and promote positive behaviour.
  • Work closely with teachers, SENCo, and other professionals to ensure the child’s individual education plan (IEP) is followed.
  • Foster a trusting relationship with the child, offering consistent guidance and encouragement.
 
Requirements:
  • Male candidate – Essential due to the specific needs of the child.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to remain calm in challenging situations.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team.
  • A positive attitude and a passion for helping children achieve their full potential.
