An exciting opportunity has arisen at our vibrant secondary school in Central Birmingham for an enthusiastic individual to join as an English Academic Mentor. This role is pivotal in providing tailored support to students in unlocking their potential and achieving success in English across Key Stage 3 (KS3) and Key Stage 4 (KS4).
 
*** English Academic Mentor
*** £80 - £90 per day
*** Immediate start, until July 2025
*** ‘Outstanding’ school central Birmingham
*** Support English students on a 1:1 and small group basis
 
As an English Academic Mentor, you will play a fundamental role in guiding students through 1:1 and small group sessions, reinforcing key concepts, improving literacy skills, and fostering confidence in the subject. Your collaboration with the experienced classroom teachers will involve assisting in lesson planning and delivering engaging sessions that inspire and motivate students to excel in their English studies.
 
The school are seeking a candidate who possesses a degree in English or a related field, exhibiting a strong grasp of both English Language and Literature. Your excellent communication skills will be essential in building rapport with students, and your passion for education will drive your commitment to supporting students' academic development.
Previous experience in a secondary school setting will be advantageous, but a genuine enthusiasm for working with young learners and a willingness to learn and grow within this role are equally valued. Your dedication to the academic success of our students and your ability to adapt teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs will be paramount.
